Loon Tungsten Carbide Scissors Product Review
Hey everyone! With fly tying season in full swing we have been spending a lot of time testing out new tying materials and new tools! Over the last few weeks we have been using the new tungsten carbide scissor line from loon! lets just say we couldn't be more impressed!
The cool thing about having both a right hand and left handed tyer at the shop is getting to really test these tools out from both perspectives. One of the coolest parts about these scissors is that the precision peg can be unscrewed and mounted to whatever side of the scissors that feels best for you. At first glance the precision peg doesn't look like much but it didn't take much time on the bench for us to see the advantage of the extra stabilization! Listed below are some of the highlights and our thoughts from using the new line!
The loon Tungsten Carbide universal scissors are a 4.5 inch high end all purpose scissor that can step up the cuts on any bench. with ergo handles that fit like a glove. From fine and delicate to big streamers with ergo handles for a comfortable grip, with Precision peg for precise cuts these curved tip scissors are all purpose built!! The tungsten carbide blades with a slight curve allow for shaping foam, hair and wool as well as getting in tight spaces and making those final trims! but this model still has a decent sized cutting edge to get the larger jobs done too! These scissors will stay sharp for years to come. The perfect scissors for the tier looking to add a second set of purpose driven shaping scissors to their bench.
